An outgrowth of the mentoring efforts of Don "The Don" Viapree over the years. He has personally impacted the lives of 100+ mentees of all ages by empowering them with valuable knowledge, relationships, and encouragement to enhance their levels of success. The DV Connector Network serves as a platform for continued knowledge sharing, relationship building, and mentorship. We welcome guests and invite others to share and benefit from the DV Connector Network.

Richard Wesley was born in Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Howard University. He studied Playwriting under the tutelage of Owen Dodson and Ted Shine. A member of the New Lafayette Theater from 1970 through 1973, he served as Managing Editor of its Black Theater magazine.
Among other commendations Mr. Wesley has received are the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Organization of Black Screenwriters, the Pioneer Award from the National Black Theater of New York, The August Wilson Playwriting Award from the National Black Theater Festival, the Castillo Award for Outstanding Writing in Political Theater, The Distinguished Playwriting Achievement Award from the Texas State University Black and Latino Playwrights Conference, the Alumni Legacy Award from the Chadwick Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University, and the 2020 August Wilson Award from the National Black Writers Conference.
Mr. Wesley is currently an Associate Professor in the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing there. He is also the Chair of the Selection Committee for the Black Film Festival of the Newark (NJ) Museum of the Arts; a member of the Board of Directors of The Manhattan Theatre Club and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn,
